Bennett and I at the Wild Animal Park for BUTTERFLIES! (I’ll tell you more about it later…death toll, 1. That’s all I can say now.)
2 years old! Wow!!
Our little B~MuFin is certainly not a baby anymore. He swings on the big swing, wears big boy underwear, and can nearly outrun his moms.
We happily enjoyed a cozy party for his birthday last weekend, with most of the festivities taking place indoors due to rain…however, there was just enough sunshine for the pinata and some outside play time.
B enjoyed TWO cakes for his SECOND birthday: A frosted in chocolate Gingerbread Cowboy cupcake cake AND a frosted in vanilla Maisy cupcake cake. Both were wonderful and we ate just about every one of those 40-someodd, homemade, from scratch morsels. Yum!!
Since his party was on Sunday and his birthday wasn’t until today, Wednesday…we sort of spread it out a bit. We enjoyed ice cream on Monday, hit up the library on Tuesday, and enjoyed El Zarape burritos and park time on Wednesday. (We also started Wednesday, his birthday day, with some pancakes sporting 2 skinny birthday candles.)
OK, it IS 1am…time for Mommy to hit the hay. Big, fun (I use that term loosely…well, incorrectly) meeting all day tomorrow….

Um….time has been flying by…
B~MuFin is nearly 2. TWO! Wow!! I can’t believe it. This is happening so fast…he is moving so fast….growing so fast…learning so fast….so much, so fast! This is exciting and good, but it is also a bit sad. Our little baby is certainly not a baby…and he’s so independent (at times…well, maybe it’s more stubborn…not independent…)…he is barely a toddler. More like a teenager in a small package.
In any case, he’s still the apple of our eye, the joy of joys. We are totally in love with him. We are in awe of his energy, his enthusiasm, his intense emotion, his frequent, “I love you” and “I missed you” comments….Those have been the best. What a sweetheart. Just love, love, love him!

Store Manager
B~MuFin might be opening his doors for business soon…he enjoys making food for folks at this location, but he also loves to play barista, making Mommy and Mama mochas in his play kitchen at home. The idea struck me today, perhaps he should get a gastro truck! He can be on the go, but still make fun fare for foodies out and about. Hmmm…

Bumpy Slide
We had a great time this afternoon playing at the park…and with the rain this morning, it was pleasantly NOT a super crowded afternoon. Benny did a better job on this bumpy slide than I did moments earlier…that BUMP knocked off my glasses and I exclaimed something that was surprisingly not park-like. Anyhow, it was a fun afternoon!

A prodigy? Maybe. Music lover? Definitely!
No doubt, Bennett loves music. He enjoys singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. By 21 months, he had 2 guitars and a drum set…plus oodles of other “baby” instrument toys.

Fun in the January sun
Despite yesterday’s fever and the continuation of the runny nose and cough…we played in the sprinklers today. Fun times!! Now B is zonked, getting much needed rest.

Playdough Fun Times!
Our little boy is a fan o’ Playdough!

When playing on his own, he is a champ at pulling the dough apart and stuffing it back into the cup. Benny doesn’t care much for cutting it with a plastic knife…yet. Rolling it into a snake is also not a skill he had mastered yet, but he is trying. With the assistance of Ma Big, B is surely going
to blossom into a playdough master!

Morning Manicure
Keeping Mr. B groomed is a process. Ma Big is the main manicurist on staff, assisted frequently by Mama Leigh. As for the haircuts, Ma Big and I have both taken our turn at snipping those locks…an Mama Leigh would prefer we’d enlist the help of professionals. However, I just purchased some electric clippers…we shall see how that goes.
Here is a manicure photo study:
